Come Visit Me....But Where Will I Be?

In addition to traveling to cool places, I want to see cool people! Some of you I'll visit....or maybe some of you will want to visit me....but where will I be? Glad you asked!

Here's a handy dandy calendar with where I'll be and when I'll be there. I don't have super specific details about where I am for privacy reasons (the calendar is public), but if you're interested in a place talk to me for info. If there's something listed in parentheses, that's what event(s) are going on while I'm there. Each event name ends with if I already have guests or if I have OPEN room for guests. For example: City, State (Event) - Guests or OPEN. Talk to me if you'd like to visit!

Who can I accomodate? Well, in additon to the main bedroom with a queen bed for Queen Scally, there's a queen bed over the cab. There's also a fold out couch that's a full 6 feet (some couches have arms that make them less than 6 feet and not good for taller people). I've also got my hammock, which I'm more than happy to let others use or sleep in myself, but not all places will allow that. So basically, I can probably fit 2-3 people comfortably, or more if we get cozy. There's also a few beds for Scally, but I doubt any of you are interested in sleeping in those. Oh, if you're deathly allergic to cats, it might not be a good idea for you to visit.

Also, just 2 "housekeeping" things I should probably mention:

  1. If I'm not an event, I'm usually working (I know, it sucks!). That doesn't mean I can't have or don't want guests though - I just might be busy during the days. Or perhaps I can be a bit flexible with my schedule and split up my days a bit. Anyway, I'll do what I can to be fun and I can take some vacation, but sometimes work gets in the way, ya know?
  2. It's just me and my RV - no separate car or truck. I mention that because usually once I'm parked in a location, that's where I'm gonna be. If you don't have your own vehicle, we just might need to get creative about making sure we arrive/depart together or figuring out transportation.

Okay, the kinda negative housekeeping stuff is done - looking forward to seeing some of y'all!

Let's Make a Deal!

As Scally and I prepare to move into our ARRRV, we'll need to downsize a lot of our possessions. I'll first make those available to people I know, and then post places like FB Marketplace and Craigslist. Keep an eye on my Google Photos Album to see what's available and if you're interested, Let's Make a Deal! They can be free, or if it's something more valuable, maybe a little cash or dinner or drinks sometime. I'm flexible, whatever works for you.

I'm somewhat flexible when I can get rid of things - somethings I can get rid of whenever, but a few I might need to hang on to until spring, but I figure with a little creativity I can live without most things. I'll talk to Scally to see how she can live without some of her things - she might be less willing to be creative.

Also, let's play a game of Monopoly Deal somewhere down the road!

Buffett Batteries

Something I noticed after Jimmy's passing is that many concert-only Buffett fans who aren't familiar with the formal parrothead clubs and regular phlockings we hold are suddenly looking for ideas how to keep the Buffett lifestyle going, whereas PHIP-parrotheads have been keeping the Buffett lifestyle alive year-round for years now. Did they not have interest in all of these events before? Did they just not know about them? Will there be more or less interest in them going forward? Will they keep looking until they find them?

A big part of why we do this is for charity, as well as to express love and support for Jimmy, and we did amazing at that. But it's also for ourselves. If that weren't true, we could all simply write checks to charities and Margaritaville and move along. We also want to have fun, experience new things, and meet new people. I think of that as recharging our parrothead batteries. The monotony and stress of everyday life drains them, then at our phlockings we recharge them with fun and excitement. Sometimes it's just a happy to top us off a little, or sometimes it's a larger event to fully recharge us. Some of us are lucky enough to recharge frequently, some at a few events per year, and some only had that opportunity once per year - and now they're not sure when they'll get that chance.

Whenever I'm at a phlocking I appreciate not only the event, the people, the music, the scenery, the food, and the drinks, but also the opportunity to recharge my parrothead batteries until I'll get to again. I just finished of of the largest phlockings of my year, the Atlanta Parrothead Cruise 2024, which left me fully recharged. It will be a while until my next - almost half a year. After that, hopefully I'll be able to recharge every few months. I consider myself lucky for that. A lot of my friends are similar. If not, look around, ask around - there's probably a phlocking nearby that can help you recharge, and we'll be more than happy to help you find it.

When they end, hopefully we aren't sad that they're over, but recharged and happy we got to experience them so we can look forward to the next ones. Life can't be constantly ups and moving quickly - our batteries need to drain before we can recharge them. Luckily we've had and continue to have an abundance of entertaining, charitable, and fun opportunities to recharge our batteries as often as we're able to.

And you can have the rest of everything I own

And I have found me a home

Yes, I have found me a home

And you can have the rest of everything I own

'Cause I have found me a home.

And you can have the rest of everything I own

One of the things about living full-time in an RV is that I'll need to downsize the amount of stuff I have. And for you, dear reader, that means I need to get rid of the rest of everything I own. I'll post items on Facebook Marketplace (and who knows, maybe also Craigslist or other places), but I'll make some notices of that here. Keep and eye out for free or cheap goodies!

February: Trouble Birds

March: Correct Me If I'm Wrong

Seriously though, correct me. Not if I'm wrong, when I'm wrong. I really don't know what I'm doing so if you've got tips or suggestions for doing things better, let me know please!
