Introducing... Captain MorgAnne's Revenge!
There's a bit of explaining behind the name.
Captain Morgan should be obvious. Captain Morgan's Revenge perhaps if too much Captain Morgan was enjoyed in my RV.
Pirate aficionados probably already picked up on the capitalization of Anne's being a tip of the tricorn hat to Queen Anne's Revenge, which was Blackbeard's flagship.
There's one last hidden meaning, which when I figured this out really helped me settle on the name. Initializing Captain MorgAnne's Revenge would get you CMAR, which if you tried to pronounce like an acronym, would get you See More....or Sea More. Both of these are fitting as I hope the RV allows me travel and see more, in particular more seas (yeah yeah, probably oceans, but the Caribbean is a sea). Actually, just think of Sea Mar....since, you know, Mar is spanish for sea. Or See Mar....you get the idea.

I Have Found Me a Home
The days drift by
They don't have names
And none of the streets here look the same
And there are so many quiet places
And smilin' eyes match the smilin' faces.
They don't have names
And none of the streets here look the same
And there are so many quiet places
And smilin' eyes match the smilin' faces.
And I have found me a home
Yes, I have found me a home
And you can have the rest of everything I own
'Cause I have found me a home.
My old red bike
Gets me around
To the bars and the beaches of my town
And there aren't many reasons I would leave
Yes, I have found me some peace.
And the ladies aren't demanding there
They never ask too much
And when you're coming off a cold love
That's sure a nice warm touch.
And I have found me a home
Yes, I have found me a home
And you can have the rest of everything I own
'Cause I have found me a home.
The days drift by
They don't have names
And none of the streets here look the same
And there aren't many reasons I would leave
Yes, I have found me some peace
Yes, I have found me a home.

Today's the Day
The famous Key West treasurer hunter Mel Fischer had a catchphrase, "Today's the Day" that referred to after many years of unfruitful searching, that today would be the day he finally found the motherlode of treasure. Eventually one day it was.
Almost exactly 4 years ago, I got the idea to get an RV so instead of traveling back and forth from locations and home, I could travel between locations and bring home with me.
Finally, that dream is about to become a reality. Today's the day.

Happy New Year!
I received this fun "Troubled Birds" calendar from my family this Christmas. Each month I'll think about how it relates to my ARRRVentures. As I'm looking at buying an RV and all the initial costs, I can see there might be a lot to "fun and exciting" expenses around the corner, but hopefully it all leads to a lot do fun and adventure. I hope all of you can join me for some of that this upcoming year! Here's to 2024 and all the excitement it leads to!
Welcome to ARRRVentures!
Welcome to ARRRVentures! Follow along on my adventures as I travel the USA (and maybe more?) with my cat Scallywag in our ARRRV home.
